I have emailed him quite a few times now to report one of his auction pics as being stolen and used on a bogus aution.


Just a reminder: eBay appreciates these reports but won't do anything about it unless the ORIGINAL owner of the stolen picture reports it.

Spoke to Mark, personally. He is aware of it and more or less has a "What ya gonna do" attitude about it. Try as we may we will never stop this sorta crap. Playing eBay Police for free, trying to help innocent people, in the process jeopardizing our own sellers' accounts (like I just did by sending the lead bidder a warning, drawing his attention to the other item # that ended 3-20...thru eBay's email system, no less) is going to get none of us anywhere except NARU'd for interfering, really sucks the bag!

Remember that email that Mr. Cobb sent out a while back? I said what I had to say then and am sure it's pretty much the way all of us that try to conduct business ethically feel.

Well, I just called his specific extension and left a message. While I do hope he has the time to call, I will not hold my breath!

Might as well go on with our own affairs. Not until stuff like this really gets eBay in a Major pickle OR their pocketbook it's NEVER gonna stop!

Well, whatta ya know!!? Sandy, Mr. Cobb's private secretary, just called and I not only gave her all the pertinent information here, but I reminded her of Mr. Cobb's email along with what I had to say in my response to it.

I told her that the present system just doesn't cut it, that there is often no time to go to the help pages and wait 24-36 hours for a reply....only to see such sellers with such glaringly terrible feedback continuing to conduct business on eBay.....

that what was needed is an immediate response team of people knowledgable of Numismatics to work with law enforcement that would be empowered to immediately pull the plug on auctions and have these people picked up and prosecuted.

Fraud of any kind is totally unacceptable. Seeing innocent people totally ignorant of what is going on continually being hurt is totally unacceptable and MUST be addressed.

Everything I've been wanting to say to a real, live human being.....the issues we see and chat about everyday, as politely yet as seriously as possible, I conveyed to her. She pulled the items up immediately and with a sense of urgency, told me to call anytime and to pass along to everyone here, all of eBay's gratitude for our efforts and that she was going to address this like right now.

We'll see and if you want to know how to at least do what I did, PM me.
