Picked up a toned Buffalo yesterday...

The "D" is filled in. Not by being hit from another coin or anything....just looks like it never had that "hole" in the middle. Is this common ?

I don't have my reference material at the office with me, but the buffalo series is known for a lot of different rpms. Also, those are not bad pics for a 6 year old camera. Nice pick up.

I personally like it.....I am sure it looks better in hand, but from what can see it has very pleasent toned to it.

You are right... it does look better in hand. I have it in a 2X2 and just keep staring at it. Tilting it back and forth, checking out the colors. Has the full rainbow. Starts out red to orange to yellow, green, blue, purple then back to red in the center. I have a couple of other toner buffs but they are just golden colored.

I really like the toning on that one.

A filled "D" is actually very common for this date. So common in fact, it is noteworthy when the "D" is NOT filled in. The part of the die that imparts the "hole" in the center of the "D" broke off resulting in this anomoly.

I have an MS66 that shows the same thing.
