To commemorate the death of the castle captain of the Wartburg.
Obverse: Bust right with name along rim. Edelweiss sprig in exergue.
Reverse: Cranach Helmet and Coat-of Arms both adorned with a winged snake and Wartburg Castle above. Inscription, ‘To the guardian of the Wartburg, October 18,1929.’
Von Cranach was the commander of the Castle from 1894-1929
