Ebay scam?

I just got this very odd email supposedly from ebay. Is this yet another scam.... If you move your cursor over the link it is a google redirect.
I went to ebay myself and my account is fine there.

If I just got banned, WHY would I update my billing information? LOL!

  • image Advice to all! This is a scam, 100%, make no mistakes about it. In the future, any such message you get should note at the bottom that "ebay will not ask you for sensitive info such as credit card numbers, blah, blah, blah..." If this is not at the bottom, then you are about to be victimized, plain and simple! Forward these things immediately to "spoof@ebay.com" without opening any attachments! I do biz on eBay as "wharptones" and have gotten these messages frequently. I not only forward them immediately to "spoof" but I don't respond to ebay's answer email either, regardless of what it says at the bottom! Better safe than sorry in this bright 21st century we live in!

Don't EVER use a link from an email to adjust or update any account. Any real correspondence would just ask you to log in on your own. They will NOT ask you to use a link.

I used to reply to those scams that wanted my user name and password with Username: "kiss my", Password "(you can guess)".

    It made me feel better.

A lot of the scam emails DO contain that same warning at the bottom. (They give you a link in the message and then at the bottom warn you not to follow links in emails but to go to the website yourself. Funny.

And you had to ask then if it is a scam?
  • For those that haven't heard this a thousand times, don't even click on the links to see where it takes you. Even if you don't enter any info on the linked page, you probably just downloaded spyware or a virus and/or had all your cookies read simply by visiting the page. If you do click on the link, you'll want to spend a few hours deleting all temporary internet files, running spyware and virus checks, going to eBay and paypal and changing your passwords.
Varieties are the spice of a Type Set.

    Need more $$$ for coins?
  • And by visiting the page or responding to the email, you give away your IP address too, which could be bad.
