Gorgeous wax packs

LINK

You don't see wax packs like that very often. They're out of my league (price wise) just thought maybe some of you may be interested.

The history of these things alone is fascinating... how they made it 60+ years without being opened...
  • Incredible.

I'm not a hockey fan, but that is unreal! Thanks for sharing.
  • MONEY !! MONEY !! MONEY !! I NEED MONEY !! I am so jealous to whoever buys those packs !! Just the thrill of cracking them open would be overwelming. If i could afford to buy those i would. Then RIPPPPP !!! Out they come !! I know they are worth more sealed but if i could afford them i would be willing to take the lose. Great Post !! Love those old cards !!

Looks like these may be from the large unopened pack purchase Mr. Mint purchased in Michigan a little while back.
  • Those are just the hockey packs. Look at what else is up for bid....

Why is there no mention of this made on Mr Mints site? I guess an incredible unopened pack auction is no big deal.....
  • My Gahd! Someone call 911 I think I'm having a coronary!

Just a '54 pack short from having a complete run of baseball wax packs. Amazing! Check out the '53 Bowman Color cello.

I'm dizzy! I've never seen some of those packs, especially the football. Unopened 1952 Bowman Large Football Wax pack, 1955 Topps All-American. How cool!

What kind of fees does e-bay stand to make off all his auctions?

Is e-bay the only sure-fire way to sell all this off or simply the most convenient?

What's amazing is that none of the football are 1 cent packs - they're all either 5 cent or cello's!!! Might be time to cash in the 401k image

  • I have a hard time buying that the packs are all legitimate. It is realistic to believe that someone can come up with unopened material from over 50% of the series of the last 50 years........I mean think about that? I know the guy has a ton of cash, but c'mon. Isn't it at least possible that there is something less genuine going on here between a clevel entrepreneur and a grading company, or is it just me?

These are nice looking, but maybe I am in the minority when it comes to encasing wax packs. I like the art work on wax packs, but now I will never be able to open the pack and see what cards are inside one it is graded. I know older packs are going to be rarer unopen, but once they are graded all I am doing it enjoying the artwork on the outside. Why not open it and see what you have on the inside and you can still keep the wrapper. Just my thought.

If I was rich (no mortgage/nothing oweing quite a bit of cash tucked away) I would buy them and open them and do it live via webcam for everything image

I could never bring myself to open the rarest packs in this auction. Opening a 64/65 Topps Hockey TallBoy pack? A '53 Bowman cello? Those are the holy grails.

I wonder what the cards from the Paris, Tenn. packs would look like.....
