If you are looking for a bullion type coin, you should check out the US Mint website at www.usmint.gov. They sell gold bullion eagles. If you are looking for numismatic coins, send me a PM and I can give you some names of good dealers.

I would think if you are talking Proof the easiest way would be the Proof Gold American Eagles.

Not sure where to go and look for say Canadian Maple Leafs in Proof.

A cheaper route might be an old $20 Liberty say 100 years older then they are if possible, could be cheaper to depending on the year and grade too.....

I disagree with the eagle and leaf advice.........I would suggest some wonderful foreign gold pieces like the stuff the Franklin Mint did for the islands......these pieces are low mintage, sell at shows for just a little over melt....and are very very attractive...perfect to spark some interest into YN's

Here is a recent thread...someone wanted some advice on where to buy bullion type products. I know there are a few links in there on places to shop. This might help. Linkage.
