A Franklin can grade PR67 w/ this many milk spots?!?

I wouldn't even consider having a coin like this graded. But maybe I am missing the boat?

    eewww!
  • Blech !! that is pretty fugly.

Looking at a couple of the past auctions they linked it looks like some of them also had the milk spots. Maybe the cam designation is favorable enough to warrant overlooking the spots on this year ?

  • keep in mind that the spots could have been removed via dipping and then reappeared after the coin was holdered. Also the type of flip used in the submission could have caused the spots to form after encapsulation.

I wonder if it's possible they developed after slabbing?

That spotting wasn't caused by a flip. It's caused by latent chemicals embedded in the planchet that begin to emerge after the coin is removed from the mint packaging, and can take weeks or months to emerge.

    That's exactly what happened.
