In your honest opinion, why are these boxes so expensive? The gum is delicious I understand, but the odds of pulling a even a Chrome are one per box. I alos realize this is a popular set, but the sp's make it a 7-8 box break for one master set. At $250 per box, it's getting expensive.

2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs
Nothing on ebay
I wished I had saved a bunch but when it comes to modern, I never hoard anything - just rip and chew the gum!

<< <i>01 was a great year for heritage. in fact i hadn't ripped a "new" pack since the 83 topps hit shelves. i first saw the cards previewed in my son's beckett. that was all it took, i hunted the whole summer and paid as much as 180 a box on ebay . the cases were selling as high as 2g's (if you could find one) what a great time!! . i think the 2001's are still the best heritage product. >>

I agree... with the 2002 my next favorite! Next year will be good for me also!

those redemptions are expired now, but you get 1:152 pack odds of pulling autographs of Mays, Snider, Spahn, Bonds, Arod..the
list goes on...and while you think you only get 12 sp's, you actually get more because there are low #ed sps too.
If you want another reason why this stuff is selling over 200 a box, then go to the search link and type in the words heritage museum.
I will one day open another box of 2001 heritage!

my fav sets of the GOLDEN era of baseball is 1954 topps to 1957 topps. I have a Heritage 54 and 55 design set..i bought a case of 2003 54 design heritage and came 5 SPs away from a a set with at least 2-3 base sets in the case....i also pulled a Mays Real One Auto and at the time didnt realize how hard it would be to pull such a card from heritage. To date its still my BEST pull ever...and will be tough to beat now that willie aint signing anymore (Teue Fe4u or whatever he signs...anyone have a dag on clue??)
For 55 design I bought only 4 booster boxes, and then purchased ALOT of extra cards from Stone and JStalin to finish it out....as well as a few other guys. I own alot of 56 and 57 topps cards (100 % on 56 topps without checklists and 98% on 57 topps) so its understandable that this year and next are HUGE FOR ME. My 2005 heritage case was downright AWFUL. IM still about 70 base cards away and 11 sp's from a master set after 8 hobby boxes and 4 booster boxes. due to my HORRIBLE collation....i have a box of 300 cards with only 10 different actual base commons...30 of each!!!!! Topps can bet its butt its getting them back very soon with a request for random replacement.
NEXT YEAR IS THE YEAR. 57 topps is by far the cleanest set ever produced apart from 1967 topps. The wide open photos and white boarders are fantastic....and also reminds me of 84 donruss.....and guess what....thats a classic too (57 seems to have a better photo selection then 84 D though)!!!!

Did Willie stop signing autographs all together, or did he change his signature? Can someone fill me in?
<< <i>Stone, I know you haven't hit an auto last year, or this year yet, I feel like I am in the same boat. Although I did pull a Jimmy Piersall back in '01. How did you fair in the 01' heritage. >>
I pulled two autos in 01, three in 02, two in 03 and actually did pull one last year but it was a currently player - Cliff Floyd...also pulled his Black chrome and gave it to Chris Kuhlmann I believe. I have done OK in every set except now Heritage for two years!!!
But, I still love the set and it's the best!

topps had to say goodbye, that sucks but is how it goes. I was majorly disappointed that topps didn't include Bonds in
the autograph set. They have let some big name players go to other comapnies, but were supposed to make up for that
with the addition of Arod and Bonds..so far Bonds has appeared in only one product and only signed 25 cards. The Bonds
heritage from 01 sell for over 400 bucks everytime it hits ebay...beckett should just book it for 600 bucks but that would
look funny so they keep it low
Mays autograph changed sometime after 1952...actually does anyone know if that is what his sig looked like back then? I know
for the 2001 heritage set all the autos were written by someone else and have nothing to do with the real graphs. Its cool to
compare the "fake" autos of 1952 with the real ones in 2001 signed by the players themselves.
Believe it or not, Willie Mays actually signed the most autographs in 2001 heritage....followed by Nomar, Chipper and Bonds!!!! When
can you say that in a product today?
I think Kuhlmann needs to get us a box and sell us a few packs each, so we can all get a taste...I would spend 20 bucks on a few packs!
