COINDOG - Some help (thanks) but not enough! I assume there is a hoard of these? I don't follow/collect the IKES. Thanks!

image Spectacular toning on these coins. Also rare, and highly collectible. The birds name cannot be correctly spelled, because Pcgs will censor and delete this word for obvious reasons.

Thanks COINDOG - I figured they were toners and I know that c**k will get tossed. BTW, there is a member here with the handle of son-of-a-gunk (without the dashes) and you can't use his name in a thread!

PKOK is a hoard of toned Ikes. No one really knows the origins, but ALL the coins have the same distinct look.

Look at the 73-P, 74-S and 76-D Type II in the following link.

Also suggest you do a search for PKOK, and you'll see some old thread which talk about this fabulous Ike hoard.

    Jim:

Are you sure that ebay piece is not a PKOK. Some of the colors are typical PKOK colors, in the right kind of rings. I have never seen them arranged that way though.

    Greg,

Pat knows PKOKs very well. If that coin was a PKOK he would state it.

As you know, PKOK's typically get the rings (rainbow colored) around the rim. The major devices on the silver PKOKs get a green/blue color.

Typically both sides exhibit similar color patterns.

On the clads, the colors typically are more orange.

Pat's coin is pretty, but doesn't appear to be a PKOK (at least to me)
