To honour the Greek athletes who'd win an Olympic medal during the 2004 summer games in Athens, the Greek Post Office decided to print stamps with them, on the very same day that they were winning their medals. Out of a total of 17 winning athletes and stamps in their honour, one became a major rarity . The weightlifting athlete Leonidas Sampanis was found positive to a doping test and had to return his medal. The stamps were immediately withdrawn, but a few made it to the market.
