Opines on a Florin

Just wondering if this Queen Victoria Florin would be worth going after ...

Nice coin. Is the toning original? I don't know. Probably will sell for $150 or more.

Been on my watchlist since yesterday. Been looking for one of these for a few months. Shipping is a little high. But I will probably bid.

    Toning looks fantastic.

But a little too good to be true, maybe?

Heck, even if it's AT, it's really pretty.

It's a nice piece, but I think $150 is a bit much for it. ajaan is probably right about the price it will fetch, though. My problems with it are:

    (1) It's one of the more common dates of the entire series,
    (2) It's not UNC and does not look EF (seller grades XF) to me either - maybe gVF or aEF.

Me I'd say it grades AEF but that toning on the obverse looks a little too perfect to be true.
  • It sure is purdy tho.....
  • if that tonings not real, I'd like to meet the artist!!!

based on the photos, I believe it is AT and the coin is not original. I would be very careful...

Well ... I checked just for grins ... top bid was $151 and it did not meet reserve.
