David,
If you had a mottled toned coin that had negative eye appeal would you have it dipped professionally or would you leave it as an origional coin with negative eye appeal. I would like to know your opinion. This is my 1877-S PCGS MS62 Liberty Seated Half Dollar that has mottled toning. I'm thinking of having it profesionally dipped because it has negative eye appeal. It does have nice luster underneath also some blue, green, and red toning that you can't see in the pictures because of the mottled toning. What would you do in this case. Thanks.

I can't really tell from the scan. In general, I am not a fan of dipping. And I personally wouldn't do it unless the coin is very ugly to begin with.
Thanks,
