Do you know exactly how many coins were certified on the first day PCGS opened?

    Don't know how many were graded the first day back in February, 1986. However I can tell you that we were very surprised by the quick response to our service. We thought a few of the dealers who specialized in top quality coins would use our service. We expected to do 2000 or 3000 coins a month. The first month we were open we recieved 17,000 coins. The second month we were open we recieved 35,000 coins and after that it was a mountain of coins every month.
