Has anyone ever seen this ?

I was looking through ebay and came across this.linky

Is this legit ? Not the price of course, just the explanation.

image What's to stop anyone from making their own "factory cut" down the middle, if it's worth so much more than an uncorrected Billy Ripken "FU" card? I think this zero-feedack seller is overly optimistic that some newbie will blow $9500 on a 1989 card with a piece sliced out of the middle. Heck, for that money you coud buy a hundred '52 Topps Mantles whose sellers found them in Aunt Nellie's basement and aren't sure if they're real.

<<< This 1989 fleer baseball card has a factory cut down the middle. Fleer does this to the cards that they do not want distributed. I called Fleer, and they told me that I had one of two of these cards that some how made it out of the factory. The only other like this one sold in the S.F.A.A.(San Fransisco Authenticity Auction) in 2000, for $51,000. You must see this one of a kind baseball card. MUST SEE VERY RARE, SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE. >>>

The "what" auction??? This seller is one funny guy with a vivid imagination.
  • I have a factory set all cut the same way that I will sell for 1/2 his starting bid. I will even let you tell me where you want the slice.

This is about the dumbest item I've seen on auction all week long.
