are PSA holders UV protected?

on a related note some ebay joker seller sent me a PSA graded card in a white envelope with little padding and since I wasn't home for 3 days it was left in my mailbox. I live in the northeast and temperatures were in the 20's below freezing much of the time. Does PSA holders protect against extremely low temperatures? would discoloration of the card occur?

Call PSA and ask their CE-NO
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

I'm not sure if cold temps or other elements may affect the condition of a card inside a PSA holder, but what difference does it make if the card is damaged but the holder is not? The card is already graded! image

  • I ran over a PSA card with an SUV and it was fine. Cards in holders are UV protected as long as you keep them out of the light. 20 degrees below is very cold, and as far as discoloration goes, don't eat yellow snow.

There was a post here about a year ago. Someone left cards in certain types of lighting.....sunlight, fluorescent etc. After a few months, many of the cards had faded due to the light.

Lesson: keep your cards where the sun don't shine.image

Here's a complete list of the ingredients of a PSA slab :

    Don't see PVC listed anywhere.

Maybe farting in the envelope then quickly sealing it will keep it warm.

  • PSA cards should not only be kept out of the sunlight but out of all artificial light too. They should always be stored in the dark. Those who display them for a lengthy time will sadly discover that they are slowly but surely fading/discoloring.
