  • Well, maybe it would be considered a doubled die, i'm not sure but it's only represented on the date, i'm not too big of an error person, but, I can tell the differance between serifs and shelfs.... which these both have serifs, and the 9 on the 1933 , you can see another 9, both are almost completely seperated, faintly, but there.... I see no sign of it being a 1933 over 1932. Fixing to get my 10X loop out though, to check the other areas to see if anything else is doubled...

  • BTW, ty for the welcome, i'm an avvid collector of Austrian, German, and Mexico coins pre 1950's image
Let's see if a pic will work, granted, I can't get it close up enough to actually see what i'm talking about, but, I gotta show this coin off nonetheless image

I look in Krause and The Guide to Mexican Coins 1822-date by T.V Buttrey and neither mentions that variety. image
  • Thanks oldshep for the compliments, i'm just now getting into "higher grade" coinage, figured I would dabble in circulated coins before I went onto stuff too pricey, this piece cost me 20.00 after I received 30% off for buying a group of coins. Which Isn't bad I don't suppose.
Thanks theboz for taking the time to look and see if there was any information on this, i've scanned the net for a while, but couldn't find anything, I suppose it will be another one of my mystery pieces, that or i'm seeing.... what I want to see hehe...

  • You got it brotha! That's it, the 3's are identical, although the 9 in mine is more prominent than the one you picture, the 1 is nearly identical.

  • I just noticed that on the 1918 A German 1/2 mark, there is significant signs of doubling on other areas of the coin, it as well has a die crack going around the entire coin that cuts through the top of the 8.
