Greetings,
My first of what I hope will be numerous posts. Great site!
I have recently come upon a good size collection of coins, mostly foreign and many ancient.
I intend to post a picture of a Charles I Crown, with a few interesting apects about it. However, on the coin is a stamp size "Payne and Son, Oxford" sticker, right in the middle of the reverse. On this sticker are some hand written notes about the coin, Oxford mint, grade/condition, etc. I know this is the shop where the coin most likely came from in England. Is it OK to remove the sticker?
I assume it is, but it never hurts to ask. This sticker is also on several other coins.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

Hi Tim,
I don't know much about world coins. I think it would probably be all right to remove the sticker. I see you from Boston. You might give the firm of JJ TEaparty a call and ask them their opinion and/or show them the coin.
Thanks,
David
