  • I tried to order once but never got a response to my two emails. I have a feeling you have to pick up a phone to order!

I had to call them on the phone to order as they never answer emails. I believe $40 is what Royal mail charges for insured International shipping.

Not long ago I paid £20 for registered post from the UK. It was worth it not to have to worry about my package getting here.

  • Not purchased anything from them but have got you the link to Royal Mail's postal calculator.

Just need to enter weight, country and insurance limits......

    Postal Calculator

    Hope this helps.

  • I have bought a couple of items but the high postage and poor service has put me off further purchases.

I too have bought a couple things from them. It is a bit of a hassle, but for the right item (oh, say a 1997 proof Britannia set...) it's worth it.

Definitely call! Emails get no response.

If you pay by check be prepared for them to hold it up to 30 days, they only did that to me once-the first time I bought from them, and considering my address was an FPO//AP and I was calling out of Japan at the time, I'm not too surprised. What did surprise me is when I paid out of a new, US, address, they didn't bat an eye, and didn't hold it for nearly as long.

The postage was worth the peace of mind on a big purchase, but for just a sovereign I wouldn't do it.

Check their ebay auctions, sometimes the postage is much more reasonable--I've bought once (maybe twice..) via ebay for a lower cost item and did very well. They did answer the via ebay email eventually. Also, their ebay feedback is pretty sucky because they are slow and use stock photos, which can work to your advantage if you know what you are buying and are patient.

My overall feeling is that if they have what you want, they are trustworthy. But slow, hard to get ahold of and not user friendly. I would definitely buy from again for the right item.

Mike, may I possibly enquire as to what you are searching for? I might be able to help.
