If I was going to produce a postcard with my picture on it, I can promise it wouldn't be a black and white picture with only the color red added in and placed on a horrible brown background.

    Great catcher, horrible graphic designer.

The Drysdale is a team issued postcard. The exact year can't be determined (although it has to be between 1962 and 1968), because they kept reissuing the same ones for a few years in the 1960s for players who stuck with the team. When I have seen them at shows or dealers, prices vary widely - because Beckett doesn't list them, they may sell at anywhere from a dime to a few dollars for common players, and a couple dollars to 20 dollars for Drysdale. Koufax is the only one that's always expensive.

  • Hello, My information on the Drysdale card is that it was issued in 1964 (no stadium sketch on back) . These are nice items, I have had some graded, but not very lucky with grades. If you decide to get rid of the Drysdale, please let me know. Thanks!

I ate at Home Plate many years ago, and took away everything I could get my hands on: postcards, matchbooks, placemats, a menu,a photo of myself crouching next to a life-size cardboard poster of Johnny that was there at the time. I don't recall seeing that particular brown and red postcard. Couldn't they come up with a real color photo?? I guess some people lifted plates and drinking glasses from Johnny's place, because you see them on eBay all the time. Or maybe the restaurant itself sold them to customers. They weren't doing that when I was there.

Did you get one of the cheese burgers ? I was about 14 or 15 when I ate there and I did get a postcard but never thought about getting all of the other stuff and My dad would have Kicked my As* if I had tried for the Match books or stuffing my pockets full of other stuff LOL. I lost the postcard over the years But thanks to A761506 I have this one on the way to replace my lost one image

No, I didn't get the burger but I saw them, and I think most pitchers would have no trouble throwing strikes over one of those if it was home plate. image
