Help me, or I might preorder this case

Stop me, or I might do it.

Tell me most presells are scams (though this guy has several buyers with good feedback about fast shipping, some I know). Tell me UD products are overpriced and bad for breaking (though I would probably sell most of the boxes). Tell me it's no guarantee this will turn out to be a good price (though other sites like blowoutcards want 500 more for this case). Tell me something or I just might do it.

Of course, if someone bids on it and raises it to the BIN price, I won't bother anyway, but in my experience usually only one or two do. Or someone here bid on it so I can't myself.

Why dont you just save your money and buy a few pizzas. You cant go wrong there, unless of course you get food poisoning from one of those stuffed crust pizzas like I did and have to use the can about 15x in one day.

  • Yah, I should also mention the product doesn't come out until early June. If it was only 45 days from now, I don't think I could resist.
  • I thought the product had to be available within 30 days in order for it to be sold on Ebay as a pre-sell.

  • Really? I don't think so, some powersellers who are respected here sell presells out longer than that (blowoutcards.com has an ebay store). Less than 30 days is not going to get you much savings as far as these boxes go I don't think.
  • It is just 30 days here is the link to the Ebay terms regarding Pre-sells..

  • You're right, I guess most presells on ebay are 30 days or less, didn't realize that. Kind of makes ebay useless for making any money on cases.

But as far as this seller, he has sold presells more than 30 days in advance several times, with good feedback, unless the whole thing is a scam. Ebay won't notice if they aren't aware of the exact release date of cases and it's not stated within the item listing. But there would be more presells if it weren't for this rule probably.

Buyers who pay with paypal need to be most concerned with 45 days, because that's when you can file a claim with them if a deal has gone south. Ebay is pretty useless with getting your money back.
  • I feel it could be the sellers who lose in the long run, especially when taking Paypal. According to Paypals terms the item MUST be shipped in 7 days or the sellers protection is forfeited and any complaint made by the buyer at that point will be ruled in the buyers favor.

  • You could buy 2 cases of 04 Honors for that BIN.
    48 boxes compared to 18.
  • Yah, but this is a much more expensive product. As I said, other sites are selling the case for 1500 or more. 18 boxes for under a grand is good for a real high end product. Though feel free to let us know if you find good case deals on anything.
  • Well someone bought it for under a grand, but not me. The fact that I was told about ebay's presell policy was what stopped me in the end.

  • I know it's expensive, but these damn boxes sell for 150 or more sometimes. I'm not recommending opening all the boxes, these high end products usually stink for that, but I think the boxes will be selling on ebay for this product at the very least 80-85, if not more.

If you are at all into reselling and could guarantee you could get these cases from someone you know and trust for that price, you would be a fool not to do it.

  • << <i>Yah, but this is a much more expensive product >>

And your point is?? I rip a lot and I buy smart.Just because a case is $1,200-$1,500 doesn't make it a good rip.
You can turn your nose up at stuff like Honors but if you buy to rip and sell it's the only way to go.
Also buying cases and speculating that you can turn them for a profit is very risky. No way to tell what product is going to tank and which one is going to be hot.

  • << <i>$1,015.00 for 864 modern cards?? not with my money! >>

And the modern guys could say the same to you.4 or 5 high grade vintage cards for $1,000.
It's all relative and it's all based on what part of the hobby you enjoy.
  • You don't get it. This post was more aimed at the people here who sell boxes, not a suggestion for casual buyers for what might be a good rip after you buy one box. Selling these boxes after buying them at this price would likely just as profitable if not more profitable than a B+ box rip of a good product to rip.

Though at that price, I would have probably opened at least a few boxes even though it would likely have cut into profits.

But when did I ever say it was a good rip...some of you need to learn how to read. In fact, I basically said it wouldn't be a good rip at the top.

True, it's risky. But the MSRP prices are already out for reflections, and if these boxes end up selling only in the 50s on ebay, I'll retire. Rarely do you see a crash like that. But if you wait for products to be released if you sell boxes, you will never make any money without presells. Unless you rip entire cases of heritage.

Just take a deep breath and relax. We all can't be as smart as you.
Plus I would bet you the person who won that case on Ebay will never see it.First of all the product is listed to go live on 6/2.That seems like more then the 30 day limit that Ebay allows on pre-sells.Plus the fact that a seller who I buy a lot from and I consider to offer some of the best case prices around has it for $1,500.Sorry but I can't believe this guy on Ebay is going to sell it for $500.00 less.
  • That's why I didn't bid. But it was awfully tempting, especially after looking through his feedback and seeing people who bought presells and then sold the boxes on ebay for a 50 percent profit a few months later. But the main problem with these presell people on ebay is they can go out of business at anytime before the product is released, even if they have been good sellers.

His price was good for ebay, but you can get prices below that sometimes either direct or from certain distributors if you buy at the right time (and you have a storefront). So it's possible he could make a profit even if he delivers.
