Is the 1909-S Indian cent a great value in MS grades?

It seems like a bargin when you compare prices with the 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent.

not really, most folks would collect it in a circ'd grade.

I think so. It has a lower mintage than the 1909-s-vdb, and is in a very popular series. I bought my 1909-s Indian head cent, PCGS, MS-64, red, about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. I paid about $1,400 for the coin, and it's gone up considerably since then.

Then they are missing the boat dorkkarl, because greysheet bid is $400 in XF and $665 in MS63RB.

Every coin is a bargain when compared to the availability/price ratio of this coin in mint state.

For some reason the RB Indian "S" mints tend to have an ugly woodgrain color to them.
