1984 topps usfl?

1984 USFL Factory Set

Just curious if anyone thought this would be a worthwhile investment? $220 for this factory set? If the Young gets a 9, that SMRs out at $360. Let alone the other like Jim Kelly and Reggie White.

I really think the market for football cards has been depressed...and I think that as it's dominance in the US market continues, people will get more and more into the older cards, especially those of players they have been able to see play.

Thoughts?

Me personally would find it hard believe that this set was not opened and gone thru. I have dealt with Steve appr. on 10 separate transactions. I have only been upset with one of my purchases but dont want to accuse anyone. He obviously buys stuff from many sources so what happened to me could have happened before he bought it. So I guess I would say it would be a huge gamble.

I bought a set from the BB Card Kid a few months ago for $200. The quality is ok - I received a PSA 8 on the Kelly and the White appears to be in 8/9 condition. About every 4th or 5th card had a print line running vertically up the card. Unfortuately, the Young was one of those cards - so I'm searching for another set to buy.

  • Speaking of 84 topps usfl...Ive been looking for some unopened material. Did those cards come in wax packs or where they just sold in sets?
And if they were sold in wax where the heck can some be found? I have not seen any.
