Sealed set question

There's probably nothing that can be done at this point, but maybe you guys have some knowledge of this kind of situation.
I won a sealed set of 1999 Topps Traded baseball on eBay a few days ago, which I received promptly. Since I collect sets to be able to look at them, I don't hesitate to open a sealed box or set and collate them, making sure they're all there. Anyway, I opened this box today, and several of the cards are just trashed. I'm not blaming the seller, since he delivered (as promised) a sealed set in an undented box. So here's the question - for an almost 6-year-old set, would Topps do anything? Do they keep any kind of stock on hand this late in the game?
Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can give.

I guess he didn't exactly pan out for the Giants (not that I'm sorry to see that)
