New Purchase: 1890-S PCGS MS-63 Morgan Dollar -- Photos

StuartStuart Posts: 9,761 ✭✭✭✭✭
I purchased this 1890-S PCGS MS-63 Morgan Dollar today because it appeared to be of high quality for the grade based upon the auction photo provided below. It's not a rare or very expensive Morgan, but a date that I like when I see a well-struck lustrous coin, and which I feel is undervalued when compared to many other Morgan Dollar dates available.

How does it look to you??

  • It looks like a sharp 63 to me, Stuart. However, it's not one of your better pics.image

What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
  • I agree that it has a very nice strike and the luster looks above average...not sure about the spots and green stuff.....could be on the slab......hopefully that's the case because the pictures make it look a little dark around the rim...and I am pretty sure it's just an effect from the angle of the picture. image

Tom: The photo provided is the original seller's auction photo (not mine), since I have not yet received the coin.

I'll update this thread after receiving and examining the coin, and then may take some of my own photos of it to share with you.
