Should the 64-Present Jefferson set end and start a new one?

With the 100% design change for 2005 and a 39 year run I think it is time to retire the 65-present Jefferson set. It is already longer than the 38-64 set by 13 years. If a new design does not end a set what will? Will this be a 1964-2056 set? I say we end it with 2003 being the last year (last year of the mostly intact design) and start a 2004-present set.

Jefferson guys, what do you think?

What's the difference between the 38-64 Jeffersons and the 65-03 Jeffersons? (Aside from the war nickels, of course.)

Anyway, to answer the question, of course the Jefferson should be retired after this year. Try telling that to Virginia, tho'...

The design has changed enough so that the series could be bounded. I think that creates more interest in collecting the series since the coins are no longer in production.

Seated and Barber dimes seem to be two distinct series with only half the design change. Same for Washingtons. The clad eagle series should cap at 98.
