Buy the coin not the holder right?? I have the following in NGC:
1951 5c PR67DCam
1958 1c PR68Dcam
1958 1c PR69Dcam
1961 1c PR69Dcam
These are gorgeous coins. Super contrast. Deeep mirrors. But, NGC coins that don't go into the registry.
I am torn about sending these to auction or keeping them because they are very nice coins with super eye appeal.
Comments welcome prior to sending these to Heritage.

If you want them in a PCGS Registry set, what about trying to cross them?
Or, just keep them as premium coins - no crime there!
Do you have a photo of the nickel?
Ken
I will get pic of the Jeff and post. I have responded to some PM's offering guidance.
Solid: Be aware that I know how to correct posts.

If they don't go into the Registry then it would be silly to keep them.

not french and I have no idea if it's french. Now sell your kidney!
Help me out here. Coustomer is French, right??
Regardless, I have tried some ICG Pr69 Jeffs. These seem to cross at Pr66. I will admit I do not have a statistical sampling.

lesson one with ICG beware of the moderns.
Just bellyaching about the difference in grading approach between PCGS and NGC.

I spend a lot of time in the OF so you probably have posted ore good onfo then me.
Saw your latest post....
I have convinced myself that MODERNS start at 1964. Maybe this is dilusional.

not dilusional it's true.
To diversify, I have assumed Moderns start at 1950 and have started collecting prewar cameo proofs. Major announcement to those reading the thread: "Prewar cameos are HOT".

I dont know why they would start at 1950 because 1964 sounds the most reasonable.
and start your own registry set on your own web site or aq web host where you can show off each coin in a photo and describe it
and believe you me if they are as great as you say they are and i have no doubt in my mind that they are
if you are a long time collector i bet within 5/10 years the only thing that will matter will be the coins
good luck
and collect only the best coins you like in any holders as long as the coin is all there and with discretionary income
Thanks for the comments. I hear you saying the coins are the thing not the holder. Be in the coins for the long term if the quality is there.
Dave
Editted to include: Use discretionary income with the collecting. Good guidance

the coins will sell themselves if they are all there
in fact i would rather have a great killer monster coin that is all there and then some in an ngc holder
as i can get it at a better value from an unknowledgable seller
ask yourself this question
would i be comfortable to cracking this coin out of its holder???
if the answer is NO then the coin is not for you
and if it was broken out of the holder and it is worth less than 70% of its selling value when it was in the holder
then LET THE BUYER BEWARE
