This is, by far, the most pathetic card I have ever seen.

Mark, that site is awesome!
I love the Guru grading standard.
Absolutely hysterical.

Glad I stumbled across this thread. I need to get that link updated - it used to be linked to a very old version of my wantlist (five years old at least).
It's always nice to see Larry Tipton get some love for his grading standards and his special description of well-loved cards. Here are two of my favorite examples in my collection, which as Brooklyn Dodgers grade at least EX. I think I picked up the Duke for around $10 on evilBay, and the Sandy came from a very good friend of mine within OBC. It is the most treasured card in my collection - it is an example of what makes OBC such a great group of guys (and a couple gals). Early on in my membership, it arrived in the mail, completely shocking me. I can still remember my heart pounding and the childlike grin I had then (and have now, come to think of it). At the time, I had just started collecting Dodger team sets and had put the '53-on-up Topps Dodgers on my wantlist, never thinking I'd own a mythical card like the Sandy. I think the old Dodger I had at the time might have been from the early 60s. Lo & behold, there it was one day, no strings attached, glad to make your day. Boy did it ever! That gave me the courage to go after the early Bowman issues, and maybe even someday the 52T Dodgers. It'll be a long, long time for those though.
