Went to a local antique mall this afternoon. Found a few raw 1921-D Morgans with some die cracks. Very cheap. Got home and gave them a closer look. One is a VAM-1i and the other looks like a 12A. The 1i might be F/VF. The 12A looks XF/AU. They both need an acetone bath.
I'll get some pictures posted later today. I think there are only a couple of 12A's known.

1921-D VAM-1i. Break over N in UNITED.
I have to admit I've never seen anyone get so excited about 1921 Morgans.
You do have me looking at them a little closer.

I think yours is VAM-1AN, which was discovered later, but is an earlier die state. VAM-12A has a die crack running through the first 3 stars....VAM-1AN has the diagonal crack from the neck, past the first star to the rim. Only 4 or 5 VAM-12A's are known. About a dozen or more 1AN's. It's possible a third obverse was employed, the 12A obverse LDS has been noted to be quickly breaking apart. It could't have lasted long.
Additionally, Rob has a 1921-D VAM-1AN in NGC 64PL. Think about that, a die break on a Proof-Like coin. Here's the later die state in 12A:

I do need to post the VAM-1AN / VAM-12 diagnostics. I agree with Wolfe that yours looks like a 1AN which is still a super coin.
