MIT is for the brains of all brains. That is an incredible accomplishment. Have you ever gotten an A- or worse in your LIFE???? Hopefully with your new knowledge, you can figure a way for the Smithsonian to think it a good idea to release their coins to the public
Oh boy. I imagine this means we'll be seeing Jeremy up this way at all the local shows in N.E now..........cool. Before I say "cool", I probably should get a bit more feedback from the guys at that NJ show.
That is SO cool I actually cheered out loud when I read your first post. And I am sitting here by the computer by myself!!!!
For your major, I can think of only 1 school that is comparable to MIT and that's Cal Tech. But I think MIT is more prestigious. You shouldn't care how much it will cost to attend MIT--MIT is a life changing college and the tuition is worth it! I am SO thrilled for you. What a GREAT outcome.
Congrats Jeremy. You should be very proud. I'm sure you will be happy at what ever school you decide to go to.
Its funny you mention aerospace engineering...I had a friend of mine go through University of Illinois and graduate in the top 2% of his class in aeronautical engineering. He was hired by Arthur Anderson right out of college and got tossed around the country for a couple of years. Raked in a lot of money, but now that AA is out of business, I wonder what he is doing. He never even applied his degree...
Congrats Jeremy. I have been following your posts whlie you have been deciding on a school and think that MIT is a great school for you. They are lucky to have you. Wash U isn't so bad either -Aaron
Great news Jeremy. I've lived in the area for the past 14 years. MIT is a great place. Cambridge and Boston can be a lot of fun as well. Just try to look past the fact that we have had over 7 ft of snow up here this winter. Brian
Speaking of time travel...Anyone who looks at a John Capp gold coin would be led to the conclusion that he was a time traveler. There seems to be no way possible that he could have looked at coins in 1899 the way we look at them now...but he, and he alone, did.

What a lucky smart soul is he.
Essays of coins and dreams in his letter
Everyone agrees, they could not have choosen better.
Pieces of silver and gold remain his passion
MIT is quite in fashion.
So go young man, follow your heart
Hard work and common sense is why he's smart.
