A coworker recently returned from a tour in Germany....

and had a bunch of Euro coins. I told him about Krause and perhaps he'll get a book to look up what he's got.

However, in the mean time, are there any significant Euroes that collectors are interested in that I can tell him about to get him a little more interested and enthusiastic about the hobby?

  • Vatican and San Marino euros are highly sought after.
  • He said he has some Vatican, he thinks. Not sure about the San Marino.

are these coins easily Identifiable by those names, or is there somewhere where he (I) can find pix so he knows what to look for?
  • I'm sure a google search will get you all te pics you need for reference.
  • If he picked up these in change, then most likely there's little interesting stuff in the bunch and the Vatican stuff is Italian.

I'm not sure what the latest Krause contains in terms of Euro coverage... there is a lag of a few years, in most cases 2-3.
