POLL: What would you do? Changing forum ID to coin related handle.

As you probably noticed my forum ID is one of the most creative on the boards.

Should I go ahead and re-register with a new coin collecting related ID so that my name doesn't appear as my ID, or should I just let it go and everyone will know me as me with my envelope-pushing creativity.image

  • With my username and avatar, one might think I belong on the Sports Cards and Memorabilia forum. Truth is, I've never so much as lurked on it.

I used to have all baseball cards (Topps) from 1973-1978 from boyhood before they got lost during a series of residience moves about 10 years ago. I've avoided BB cards ever since. I still miss them but fortunately, my coins survived. image

  • No, don't re-register. You'll lose your post count, and everyone will know your name from your profile anyway.

I recommend changing it to your social security number. image

Really I vote just keep it. Using your real name makes you kind of a legit celebrity. Not like those posers that find some one word title that only they think is trendy and cool, like Sting, Cher, Madonna, Tootawl, Merc, Xbob. LOL. 50Cent might be available. Maybe 2Sac?

  • Keep it as it is. I finally had a chance to put a face to a name, and now you want to mess up my name recalling faculties!image

Hey, there's another option too. Just get on the "Explain Your Handle" thread
and claim your name is Joe Shmoe or QDB and you merely wanted to impersonate

It is kind of hard going to a show and introducing yourself as your handle. "HI, I'm Tmot99.." People know who you are and can actually call you by your name.

I changed mine with about 400+ posts ... FROM a coin-related handle. Too geeky image

Bottom line ... do what you want.

I used my first name because that's what I use on RCC (I started there several years before here), so the folks who are both places would know me.

Personally, I find the handles somewhat juvenile (Breaker one nine) and also confusing when meeting board members in person at shows and trying to sort out who's who.
