You just paid more than Krause UNC price for a coin that is probably a "slider" AU... but that being said, I think Krause is too low on these in high grade. I just sold an NGC MS64 for $39. (It had the wreath reverse, though). You got a nice one.

That's a nice one, Micheal image
I got beat on one of those by bidding too low ... used Krause as the
guide. I agree with LordM's comments concerning Krause values.

These can go very high, especially if the seller is a good photographer. image

  • Looks like a nice coin, although the pic does not show the underlying lustre.

I hope you're happy with it image

The seller seemed to have gotten a really nice sharp image of the reverse. But I think I'll be pleased with the coin. Even with the fuzzy obverse image there seems to be some hidden luster. When it comes I'll get some pics to share. Thanks everyone!

MSD61, "light guilding" was in the description, so you should not be surprised when you receive it.

I hope the coin wasn't harshly cleaned. At the angle of the picture, hairlining should show up if it had been.

British catalogue values (except for Spink) are pretty much in agreement with Krause for this date. £8 basic UNC and £5 EF.
