Spectacularly toned Barber dime - new purchase

I picked this up at a local show today - a raw 1912-D Barber dime. What makes this purchase really cool is that my current 12-D (ANACS AU-53) is one of the most unattractive coins in my collection. The ugliest gets replaced with the most colorful (primarily the reverse). Cool!

The new one does have a small hit on the cheek, and the strike isn't the greatest, but the eye appeal controls here. What do you think?

I like the toning on your Barber dime. Pretty coin.

Funny you should mention about an ANACS AU-53 being unattractive. I have a 96 O Morgan graded AU-53 by ANACS and it is a terrible looking coin.

That is a wonderful example of toned silver! And that look is why I collect
toned Barber dimes. Congratulations on a great pick up.

Thanks for the comments, and definitely not for sale! The red on the reverse is brighter than the typical "maroon" type red.

Barber series is not one of my interests but I did notice Teletrade has a number of RAINBOW labeled Barber dimes and quarters, also some toned 3-cent pieces; auction is Monday 3/14/05.
