Where in Burbank is this weaz(el)40 hiding?!

You guys have probably already had a "discussion" on the eBay seller, but I find it unbelievable he can get away with it!

Check out his discription.... Minted in Carson City, Nevada in 1879 and individually struck with the famous ''CC'' mint mark. LIES!

Luckily no one has bidded!

Wait, maybe I'll ask him if I bid & win, could I pick the 'coin' up in person? Maybe we could 'discuss' his sales tactics?!image

Looks like the buyers are finally getting smarter and reading the whole auction...I see no mention of "Copy" anywhere
  • Reported both his auctions. eBay probably wont do anything until late tomorrow.
  • Who is making this crap?

Cant the US Mint do something for imitating the GSA coins, and go after the source?!

Is this from the NY Mint? Sounds like something they would do.image

The term "100 mil pure silver proof" is all you need to hear.

Who else but our dear friends the National Collectors Mint?

Yeah, that is who I meant; I do not know why NY Mint popped into my head.

Why are they allowed to do this? I could overlook the coin because it clearly states copy on it, but the mock GSA holder strikes a nerve.
It says 100 mil on the holder, that is how the biztirdz(Forbidden word) are able to get away with it.

Aren’t they owned by a politician? Go figure

Their 911 coins got shut down and are now selling for $200 a piece. National was ordered to buy them back. I hope the coins that were returned are destroyed and do not end up on the secondary market.

    Reported.

FYI eBay has pulled over 12 auctions in the last week that I reported for crap like this in less than 24 hours after I have reported them.

Those who are "making" this crap aren't to blame. More than likely it's a private mint producing them from the specs provided. And there's nothing wrong with a "100 mil pure silver proof" coin or copy if that's what someone wants and knows the coin is plated. The CRAP is added by those who market and sell them with shady advertising.

  • Silver CLAD base. "Tribute". People are trying to find the line of legality. Morally it is wrong. Feh, and pooh on this jerk...
  • hey cosmic, what do you write when reporting auctions like this? couple weeks ago I reported about 20 auctions, not a single one got pulled and lots of people got scammed, one for nearly $600. I really want to give up reporting these things because eBay seems not to care at all, but apparently it's just me they don't pay attention to. Help me learn what to write.
