Scam or not ?

Hi,
I seethese types of auctions on eBay quite often. I was wondering if anyone ever received anything of value after purchasing one of these "lots" off of eBay. Or is it just some guy unloading a bunch of crap all in one shot ?

I'm not sure about other offers. I've seen some that have looked enticing, but I've never bid and probably never will.

This one, however, is full of crap. A lot of it isn't even US Mint stuff. It is from some other mint like Franklin. I noticed some of the gold is plated. Even have an 1933 St. Gaudens.

I don't really see this as a scam. Unloading sure fits.

I would guess the seller will take a loss on the lot but, it's out of the way.
The buyer will probably take a loss when he sells it.
It's kind of the nature of low end collecting.
Just the way I see it.
