Hi and Help

Hi Folks. I have been registered in the Forums for about 6 months but this is the first time I have joined in. I am a Jefferson collector and currently #3 in the Jefferson Nickel Basic Set-1938-present under the name Wayside collection. I have already meet a few of you folks like Full Step Jeff thru ebay etc but I am thrilled to be in contact with the rest of the community. My call for help revolves around my search for, and seeming lack of certain coins. I am having problems with what I thought would be common coins. The 1948-1949-1950-1951-1952- Philly mint coins in MS 65 or better. I am on a very tight budget so Full steps are a luxury that I don't demand, but don't shy away from. If anybody out there has suggestions for me I would be very happy to hear them. Also this whole forum idea is new to me. I don't know any of the does and don't. I also pray that correct spelling is not a requirement or I am doomed. thanks in advance Don

  • Welcome Don!

This is THE place to be for everything coin-related!

If you'll go into your "profile" button at the top-right of the screen, and turn on
your Private Messages (PM), I can offer you a couple of the coins you are seeking
from my former registry set, which I recently broke up.

  • Don,

When you have a private message waiting, it will be indicated in the upper-left
part of the screen, next to the padlock.

To send someone a message, click on the padlock on the upper-right of one
    of their individual posts.

I'm about to send you one now, and then I'll be headed out to a local coin
    show here.

Hi- thanks for the welcome- I may have bought coins from you on ebay-- what is the protocol for dealing with each other on the forum?- I don't want to step on peoples toes--thanks Don

image and ttt means "To the top". When you reply to a message, the message goes to the top or first page. On the B/S/T if your selling something you can ttt only once per day. Good Luck and Have Fun, Lee

We don't need no stinkin' rules.

Well actually there are dozens of unwritten rules. Don't worry about them we
usually won't draw and quarter the first time transgressors.

I've hardly used the BST but each time has been a pleasant experience. There
are lots of great people around here.

    Good luck.

    Don,

Thanks for the cameo appearance in your first posting... Glad you finally joined in. image

Some bits of advice... Don't let the "Modern Haters" get you down! Collect what you like. I, like you, am on a tight budget and would find it impossible to have a coin collection if I had to spend $1000 or more per coin.

The best thing about this place is... most of the gurus (and I'm not one of them) are here (would love to talk to some that aren't), so if you have a question... ASK!

    Glad you got on board!image
