  • It is nice. I am digging through my Krause trying to find it, not much luck though. I was hoping maybe more of an English coin expert could fill me in on the background on this coin.

Another guy that don't know when to put his clothes on...reminds me of that nude guy with the anvil on the Italian coins. Someone's gonna get hurt real bad one of these days.

That is a modern fantasy issue.

...which is why you can't find it in Krause.

It is no more a "coin" than the replica "1933 double eagles" you see on television.

Edit to add: there are genuine pattern coins of Edward VIII, but they are quite rare. And despite what the crooked or ignorant seller of that fantasy coin says, he DID get to rule, but abdicated the throne after a very short reign. (You'd think "sir-stinks-alot" or whatever his name is would know that, being in the UK...)

Who sadly didn't reign because he abdicated. So, Blackhawk, who doesn't know how to keep his pants on, the guy on the horse or the guy who married the divorcee image.

They are a limited issue Fantacy, They were on ebay a couple years ago and sold for about $39 each, this is part of a series in three different metals and I think 4 Patterns. I think they are Beautifully done and have almost purchased one myself. image

Definitely a fantasy issue. I thought at first it might be one of Dr. Golder's products, but I don't see his initials anywhere.

He was king but was never crowned. There was nothing sad whatsoever about his abdication. It was the best thing that could have happened. George VI wasn't a great speaker or strong personality, but he was a fine, patriotic wartime monarch. Meanwhile, his elder brother was meeting up with his pals in the third reich.image
