Proof Kennedy questions about availability

I've been buying PCGS Kennedys on eBay for a few months for a Registy Set. The set is about 40% complete (I have some more on the way) but I haven't found many from 1991 and later for decent prices. I've bought 90% of my set for less than $15 (including s&h) each so that's about my price range right now. The PCGS price guide (with the exception of a few) has the 69DCAMs priced at $35 or so but I'm not finding them on eBay very easily.

Any idea why they're so hard to find on eBay for cheap? Right now I'm just looking to have a complete set in CAM/DCAM. I can find pre-1991 in this price range almost everyday. I did get an offer to buy a 2005-s PR69DCAM for $14.95 shipped so I of couse jumped on that.

    Millertime,

Is your question that you can't find the Kennedy PR69DCAM that you're looking for or you can't find them at the price you want (around $15?).
I'm sure you can find them either on eBay, TT, Heritage or some other auction site. Many members here probably have most that you still need.
If you are asking why you can't find them for $15, supply 'n demand!

My question is why don't the post-1991 even seem available. I bid early in the auctions figuring if I win it for my price great, if not I'll wait for the next. I've posted hundreds of bids but not on these 90's and 2000's. They just don't seem available. Are the mintages really low (the PCGS price guide doesn't seem to reflect that) or is it the registry set craze?

    Thanks,

Post 1991 are readily available. L&C Coins, for example, lists a boatload of them every week.

Looking at the link you provided I noticed that 1993 - 2004 prices are significantly higher than 1974 - 1992. This seems to be a common trend and I was wondering if there's a particular reason.

Prices are higher on balance, but they are still readily available. One of the reasons is that in the decade prior, there were no 90% silver coins, so those will command a larger premium. Most of the clads are dirt cheap, though.

  • Where were you when I couldn't sell the ones I had. If you want I'll give you the e-mail of one buyer that might sell their's 1991 JFK proof
