Got my 71-S "Peg Leg" yesterday and...

...I am as happy as a pig in the sunshine!

I've been looking for one for an awful long time (I don't know if the emphasis should be on awful or long image ) but I am glad i bit the bullet and got one.

Plus, the seller was great! I won the darn thing wednesday at noon I think, and had it in hand Friday. From North Carolina to Nebraska in 2 days. The old pony express made good time on that delivery.

I also think the coin looks better than the pics in the auction showed. Peg Leg Ike auction

So I am a happy camper! No more moaning and groaning from me about finding a "peg leg". image

Now I have to get the difference between a fading leg and a squared off leg figured out. imageimage

Very, very true! Just so nobody gets me wrong (especially the sellerimage), I wasn't complaining, just being funny....It's only been a couple of days.

BTW, my mailman never came today perhaps due to the snow. Is that normal? I've NEVER had a day without mail other than holidays and Sundays. Normally, I wouldn't care so much, but when there's coins coming, I want the mailimage

What do you think a PCGS 65 or 66 bring?

  • imageBrian,
    A MS65 Peg Leg should be in the $ 600.00 to $ 700.00 range.
They have been underpriced since discovered.
  • imageBrian,
When the peg leg becomes part of the registry, a MS66 coin, ( designated as such on the holder by PCGS ) would bring $ 10,000.00 +
I currently own 5 peg legs, and I have never found or owned anything higher than MS65. As a matter of fact, I have never seen a MS66 coin. If found, it would be a great rarity !!
  • ; Coinhusker,
I have bought from that seller, he is one of the fastest on delivery, and always lists PQ coins !!
Did your peg leg have the squared off peg leg ?
