Is the mint going to redesign the 2005 Buffalo Nickel?

I keep hearing rumors that the mint is considering redesigning the 2005 Buffalo nickel because people find the male buffalo's "organ" hanging down offensive.image If this is true, then the political correctness has gotten way out of hand.image

    Indeed, way out of hand! But as someone stated in an earlier thread, I never noticed it until it was pointed out to me, now it's very prevalent when I look at it.

    uhh, and that would be the 2005 Buffalo, I think?

    They should remove it. Also remove all the busts from past liberty and other coins as well as the present eagles. Neuter the world. Make all animals wear diapers.

    Give me a break. People who usually complain about things like this are the ones who wish they had the equipment.

    If you don't like the nickel, demand 5 Lincolns as change.

    I gave out a few of the new nickels at work yesterday, and I received many "woah, it's anatomically correct!" reactions. No one seemed offended. If it gets non-collectors talking about and reacting to a new coin, it can't be all that bad!

    I would never have noticed without it being pointed out. Curiously, I have seen some dogs running around with a similar appearance. I believe a design change is in order there as well.

    Maybe with a die break on the thing, it would be called a 5 legged buffalo image

    I've been collecting Buffalo Nickels for years and never thought about it. Perhaps they could put a plant or tree to cover the "organ" up kind of like they did to the standing lib quarter bust. Then we can have a type 2 (aka no penis) variety!

    At least they did not show the nerf football sized balls hanging out the back. I am sure this one is comming from the right, not the left from the political correctness stance. Ton Delay must be so offended.

    I doubt it is true. I don't care if it is on the coin or not but honestly I wish Americans were more modest.
