I have spent coins like that!

The number of sub - $8 coins that sell on Teletrade amazes me. Certainly not worth imaging and listing, but TT probably gets these with batches of better coins, so they put up with these.

It's seeing coins like that that makes me believe that the big grading companies will never, ever, ever, ever, ever go out of business.........

I have sent in coins like that. When ANACS has a 10/10/10 special and I only have 9 coins, I'll throw in a filler. It's a common practice.

Sometimes the submitter is looking to have a variety notated on coins like that. In this case, I'm not sure if that's actually what happened, but that's another reason why you can see seemingly worthless coins in holders.

BigD5 because I too send in coins to anacs for variety attribution that are in bad shape. Of course, I dont know if this particular person did this or not.
