Nope. Go after whoever you got the "Gem" graded cards from...however, that's a tough prospect because in all reality, you bought a "GEM" graded card, and obviously received a GEM graded card, your decision to crack and submit to someone else was at your own discretion. I purchased a handful of PRO graded cards about 5 years ago from a guy and all but 2 came back trimmed... He offered a refund, but I felt bad because I bought PRO graded cards and that is what I received.... So I let it go and chalked it up to experience and never bought PRO graded cards again.
BTW, were they cracked out of the GEM case or not?
Either way, I'd measure them up and see how they come out. Take a good look at the corners/edges and see what you think.
To answer your question, PSA will not refund the grading fees as in their opinion, it took a professional opinion to determine the card was trimmed and therefore not gradeable. Kind of a bummer... I know. You might want to pursue the person you got them from and see if you can work something out, it's a discretion thing though what you or they decide is an amicable solution.
Too bad you bought GEM before asking around. So you wasted money on the cards, then wasted more trying to get them slabbed by a real grading service. Hopefully your lesson was fairly inexpensive. Now don't go out and buy PRO! Or even BCCG. Beckett admits that its BCCG 9 is equal to everyone else's 7. Stick to PSA, GAI, SGC and you'll be fine. PSA for easiest and highest resale, but the other two have their relatively own small but devoted camps of supporters.
no i just started to get in the grade mix like a year and ihave about 300-400 psa, plus just sent out 75 more so i dont waste my money any more thanks for the info
