Help me grade these coppers?

mirabelamirabela Posts: 5,013 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've got these two in my 7070. I don't trust my grading on these; fortunately, I didn't have to buy them. They've been in the family a little while. Sorry for obverse pics only; reverses show a corresponding, evenly matched degree of detail. Estimates of grade?

My first instincts were VF20 and VF35, but I'm usually pretty tough on copper (especially the ones someone else owns image ).

choice vf+/xf in other words xf-40

    choice au

both have really good eye appeal and are in demand coins

    great type coinsimage
  • The 13 star will difinitely make EF40 maybe MS60 but the 15 star the hair lines are not very sharp so I woulf go with VF20 An XF45 at the Heritage brings about $315.00 to 350.00
But now I have a question for you The Coronet withthe 15 stars was in production from 1816 thru 1857 and is a nice collectable.
But when I confused the Classic which is the 13 stars was only minted from 1808 thru 1814 how did yours get a 1826 date on it. I hope you can answer the question becaused I'm rally confused.

I say xf and ch. au.

You have to do something about that corrosion on the half cent at 2:00. Can't tell for sure how bad it is, because of the shadows. It needs attention NOW!
