Can anyone tell me the "current market value" on a complete PCGS (00'-04') Sacagawea set?

  • I certainly wouldnt pay that......you could probably get pretty close to that if you have 2000-2004 Mint and Proof Sets.....seems pretty high.....check heritage and see what those coins have been going for...i'd be surprised if it was that high

That's still more than I would pay for mercury dimes image

  • It's hard to put a fair market value on these since they are so modern, but if you look at the PCGS price guide his starting bid may not be that far off.
  • Going back to completed auctions on e-bay
you could have picked each coin individualy
for $587.32. I think the complete set would
be less since IMHO people overbid on lower
    priced items.

These items could probably be had fairly easily, and careful and patient hunting and you could probably secure this set for much less than what this buyer is proposing. I would think most of those could be made from mint sets + grading fees.....the others bought slabbed....

$600 may be reasonable (time/expense of hoping you get the cheapest on the individual auctions plus the s/h/i for each.....).

But, I wouldn't pay the full price he is asking. And, I have the proofs and am working on the MS ones now. So, I have an interest in the series....unlike some that just like to spout nonsense about what a modern is worth.

I believe the SAC 1$ date/MM set and the proof 1999-S SBA 1$ are really on the move, price wise. Is the 2000 burnished millenium SAC1$ considered part of the set yet?
  • Yes, both the Millennium and the Goodacre.

I dont collect these but might. The mint is making less and less each year. It will be a short series anyway and easy to complete. Anyone know when the series will end?

I would give it one to three years tops, before the design change.
  • I believe it will change once the current State Quarter program terminates. I'd be surprised if the SAC design changed before then, but you never know.

  • Greetings Everyone!
I'm a newbie here on the forum, and I have a few things I want you all to know. FIRST ... I respectfully request permission to come aboard. Second ... I apologize for not making that request my very first post! ... It's like coming into your house without knocking, and I apologize for that! I obviously have only a few posts ... and ALOT to learn! Before I go any further, I have a confession to make ... along with an apology. I recently posted a question in regard to the "current market value" of a complete P/D/S (00'-04') Sacagawea Set. A few of you nice folks were kind enough to respond to my question, and a few of you even took the time and trouble of researching completed auctions to get prices, and for that, I thank you. Unfortunately, I gave the impression that I was a bidder interested in bidding on the set, when in fact, the set in question actually belonged to me. I'm in somewhat of a bind and I really need to sell this (along with everything else in my collection), but I really didn't want to publicize that point, but it's obviously too late now. My honest intentions by asking the question was (hopefully) to direct a few serious prospects to the set, and also possibly get a better idea of the true value of the set compared to my asking price ... and that's all. In a sense ... I was spamming my own auction! I just didn't look at it like that until a fellow forum member pointed that out (and I thank him for that)! Well folks, I sincerely apologize if I mislead anyone, it WAS unintentional! Please understand that there was never any intention of any deceit what so ever, and I hope you can look past it and forgive. I look forward to participating in the forum and making some new friends! I appreciate your time! DaveMy eBay stuff[/L]

Wow. That was very sincere. Don't sweat it. Just a bit of advice though. Not too many people like BIN's an high starting prices. Especially both mixed together. If you don't want to sell below a certain price place a reserve (even though bidders hate that too. It's better than the high BIN's)

If you want to advertise I suggest the Buy Sell and Trade board.
