ebay no longer allows the word "mystery"!!

i recently listed an old islamic coin on ebay-- other than i believed it was islamic i couldnt attribute it beyond that so i put the
word "mystery" in the title. Ebay just notified me that it canceled the auction citing the use of the word "mystery" being some
kind of unallowed search word. Can anybody explain this logic to me?? Does 'mystery' supposedly indicate i'm trying to pull
a scam?

I say "L@@K" would be a better word to ban...

I agree with Eric ... I almost never look at auctions with "LQQK" or "L@@K" in the title. Almost invariably they're junk. (Of course, I did win an exception recently and probably got it for such a low price because others were ignoring it for the same reason.) I knew eBay had a rule against "keyword spamming" but not that a word like "mystery" was banned. What if someone was selling a book or video in the mystery genre -- or which had "mystery" in the title.

Good question.. I wonder if it applies to all categories?

In Germany, any auction that mentioned any of a list of words linked to WWII gave you an error message on clicking, except in the coin category. So if you were looking for a US training map of the pacific theater.. well, can't bid if the auction says WWII.

But with L@@K and all the other gimmicky words, those should be banned just to instill a little professionalism in marketing junk. image

That's absurd. What happens if you're selling a Murder Mystery game, novel or movie.

Magical Mystery Tour! A classic movie! If only for the segment where it goes straight from the ultra-corny Buster Bloodvessel love scene directly into the ultra-weird I Am The Walrus performance!

My wife hates Magical Mystery Tour with all her heart. I guess I can see why, but it has it's own odd appeal to me and of course the album was great!

For a just a second there, I thought Askari had returned. Bummer.

Did anyone ever find out anything about him since his disappearance?

"Mystery" used to be one of my favorite keywords.

Odd that they disallowed it so long ago.
