Help needed- How should I remove tape residual from '71 topps coins

Hi- I have a bunch of '71 topps coins I taped into a binder back in '71. I have pulled them out and the coins have masking tape residual stuck on them. What is the best way to remove this without damaging the coins? Any ideas would be appreciated! Paul

    The only thing I can think of that MAY OR MAY NOT take the writing off too is a ladies nylon stocking. Rubbing lightly in a circular motion should take the residue off. I cant tell you for certain that the writing wont come off too, but it may work.

    orange based goo gone should work and not hurt the writing. apply it let it sit for a moment or 2 then lightly wipe off.
