Just got grades back off a small player set submission, and I was off on almost every card.... Heres the catch.... The 55 bowman and the 58T stink.... 6 is a joke.... But the 55T and 57T should 2 higher each... 56 is actually ok. I actually thought about taking the 55B out because it is does not have 90/10 centering on the back, hell it is miscut. The left edge has the glove half gone. I actually posted the 57 raw on the boards a few weeks ago, but cant find now. I will scan a few when they arrive. I really dont know why my grades on vintage cards are down, I even pregraded these and looked over everything, with a light, measured, and put them under a 10x, put them away for a week and did it again... Anyone know of some decent eyes in the southwest ohio region (cinti)please turn me on to them. Enough THX I feel better.. sub#4239390 zip 45239

I am not sure as I have not seen the scans.
I would be interested in seeing the scans when you get them back.

<< <i>Received cards back today and was I ever surprised with the 57 aaron... I thought it was an 8 all the way, no worse than a 7. Well it received a 6.... I didnt even have to look twice to find a scrap like mark on the left side that wasnt there under a 10x when it was sent. now it can be seen from about 3-4 ft away.... I guess i should be thankful for a 6... Has anyone ever had cards damaged or thought to be damaged sometime during the gradeing process??? >>
Unlikely this happened.
If you are new to sending in cards for submissions, these disappointments are going to occur. I remember my first submission and being totally shocked (I think everyone has).
What I did was get some of the same set of card in 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 so you can see the subtle differences between them. I took notes as I found what are very small differences, but are the breaking points between the different grades.
Once you have a baseline for what constitutes a 8, for example, you'll be more easily able to spot grade.
