Did I really just catch the Forum AH Kennedy gods sleeping?!

The question of my next evolutionary step toward dealerhood has been answered:
eBay AH Kennedy auction I just sniped
Don't you just love miscategorized auctions? I only found that one because it was listed in the Error category (and only there, not double-listed with the Kennedies). The seller mentioned dip reidue on the coin, and immediately I thought of Russ' 1956 Frankies. I think this one may clean up real nice, too.
So is this when the Forum gods traditionally respond and say they saw the auction, the coin is a dog, and everyone passed on it on purpose?

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

That's not dip residue on the coin. It's bad flip haze, and I think you just nailed a very nice score. ANACS is brutal in grading these, and it looks like it has cameo potential if it can be restored. The reverse is all there for cam, the obverse looks to be right on the cusp.

Exactly! It looked so much like the "before" pictures of your '56 halves that I thought maybe it would come off just as easily.

From the few ANACS holders I've seen, they're brutal on all modern proofs. My ANACS pop report is a bit outdated, but there are dates where PCGS has graded 70DCAMs and ANACS hasn't even graded a 69.

Again, your thoughts are the same as mine. Even if it can't be restored, I figured it had to be worth a small premium for the reverse frost.
Thanks for your post, your opinion on this coin means more to me than I should probably admit.

I ruined quite a few coins when I first started submitting.

It's not enough, and it's a PR68 that got an eye appeal bump.

Thanks.
