Help needed on trying to fix a damaged Lincoln

JRoccoJRocco Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭✭
Looking thru a roll of 48 Lincoln's I came across a few nice doubled die doubled eye examples that all had some really bad corrosion spots. No clue how long these coins have been in this shape. Can anything be done at this point, and if not, can anything be done to stop it from continuing? Any help and/or advice would be appreciated.

Just put the whole coin in acetone and let it soak for a few hours to a few weeks. Put in fresh acetone as needed and monitor for changes and improvements......Please do take after shots and show us.

Thanks for the replies Mike and Tom. I will try a few different methods and if I can hopefully get some satisfaction, I will post the results to this board.

If you get out to a major show, sometime soon, take it to the NCS table and see what they say...
