1940-p Jefferson Full step question????

Is the 1940 Jefferson Nickel typically struck very well? I picked up a Bu roll of 1940 Jefferson's the other day out of a collection and a majority of the coin are extremely nice and FS coins easily?

Yes, they come with good steps, there are 212 MS66FS coins graded by PCGS, and 12 in 67FS.

And I am sure there would be many more certified if it made economic sense. I bought a roll and found about 12-15 that had full steps also.

Thanks Clackamas and Step hunter. I went through an pulled out two potential 66FS from the roll, And sh!t canned the rest of them.

Ill just hold them till one day in the future when I get enough stuff to make an economy submission. Not worth my time to make 10 bucks.

interesting thread. The 1940-D is the most common for that year

  • The 1940 P & D are common in full strike and full steps. The 1940S is much more difficult in full strike.
